Disaster Communication Part IIa

Disaster Communication Part IIa

OK. I may be late to the party.

But I just recently learned about a manageable what’s my location finder that everyone can access.

What3Words: learn more here

I have been found, lost and navigated around several continents in both hemispheres using Military Grid Reference System (MGRS) maps, a Lensatic Compass and plain old street maps for decades.

Once you learn to use a map. It is quite useful if you have on hand the appropriate map, and know your location.

I really do suggest that you learn map reading. But that is a different story.

Modern technology has efficiently made modern humans incapable of knowing, referencing and communication their exact location because of the plethora of GPS software and digital mapping on your smartphone.

Wait a minute you say. I can find my exact location using my smartphone.

Really, can you? Pull out your smartphone and tell me within 30 feet where you are so I can come to find you.

What3Words does exactly that. Yes, you will need to download the app. But you’ve downloaded apps before, it’s not that hard.

I believe this can be a useful tool for determining where you or your loved ones can be located.

Might even help you remember where you parked your car.

Are you lost? Do you need assistance? This app might help.

I plan on having all my loved ones explore the possibilities.

Additional research on the app needs my attention, but I am excited about this tool and thought I would share it now.

Do your own research.

You will find some negative reviews. Not for how eloquently the app works. But because of the business model it runs on.

I don’t care what the business model is. It seems to work.

Let me know what you think of the app or any possible applications?

Till next time
