New Year Post

New Year Post

As the New Year has finally overcome us, it is a good time to reflect on the past that we will never be able to recover and the future that is ours to win or lose.

I sit here pondering what I did and did not do last year I am overcome with recrimination between my two minds about the things I failed to do, and great satisfaction over some of the things that I did do.

So, instead of patting myself on the back for the good I did while eagerly trying to forget what I failed to do, I’ll ponder the lessons learned.

No. I will not make a list of New Year Resolutions that I will quickly break. I will instead look at my failures and identify those that I want to be successes.

I will,

List them individually

Identify what I did or did not do to cause my personal failure

Identify what I can do to accomplish the individual goal

And set a plan of action in motion to accomplish those goals

“The best way to predict your future is to create it. – Abraham Lincoln”

If you’re a human being, and I am hoping that you are, it’s quite possible that you have also failed at something last year, if it’s a lack of Emergency Action Planning, now is a good time to get started to prepare for the Emergencies and Disasters that will come at some time in the coming year.

A good place to start is the FEMA Are You Ready Guide that can be found here;

https://www.ready.gov/are-you-ready-guide

If you have already started your planning, what have you forgotten?
