Robert F. Kennedy’s “A Tiny Ripple of Hope”

Robert F. Kennedy’s “A Tiny Ripple of Hope”

2020 has been an interesting year.

Today most Americans will voice gratitude and peace.

We will shout Happy Thanksgiving to all we see.

In between plates of food, commercials of the traditional football game and companionship with our loved ones.

We will voice a hope and prayer that the future for our children will be better than what we see today.

The wants needs and desires of the day are not new.

My gift to you is a 54-year-old speech that asked the same questions we ask today.

We live in interesting times.

They are times of danger and uncertainty.

But they are also the most creative of any time in the history of mankind.

And everyone here will ultimately be judged, will ultimately judge himself on the efforts he has contributed.

Robert F. Kennedy: June 6, 1966

Robert F. Kennedy’s ‘Day of Affirmation Address’ (aka “A Tiny Ripple of Hope”) at Cape Town University. Delivered on June 6th 1966, Jameson Hall, Cape Town, South Africa.’

Today I hope you all a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

I stand to prepare my children and their children for the future they will face.

Till next time
