Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is tomorrow.

The “First Thanksgiving” was celebrated in October 1621 by the Pilgrims after their first harvest in the New World.

The event lasted three days, and was attended by Native Americans and Pilgrims.

It was a common practice to give thanks for successful harvests, end of a drought or military victories.

Thanksgiving was proclaimed by Congress as being on the fourth Thursday in November.

Thanksgiving is regarded as being the beginning of the fall–winter holiday season, along with Christmas and the New Year.

I am happy to be surrounded by people who love me as I love them, and am blessed with their being present in my life.

I find this a time to reflect on this year’s successes and failures. Allowing myself the insight to do better for the year to come. But more importantly to reflect on the bounty we have been given and what we have done or will do with it.

To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48). We have all heard this nugget of wisdom at some point in life, have we actually acted on it?

I will do my best to save the world, one person at a time.

Till next time
