The biggest day of the year for house fires?

The most house fires happen on Thanksgiving Day than any other day of the year.

If you plan on deep frying your turkey this Thanksgiving, ensure the device used is safe and properly rated for fuel. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) advises against using an open flame within 10 feet of any object or person because it can cause fires that may result in serious injury – not just during cooking times but also when guests visit while dinner preparations are underway! Here’s what else they say: ” the National Fire Protection Association advises against using outdoor Turkey Fryers.”

“Keep away from doorways where furniture might pile up.” These precautions should keep everyone happy at home and celebrate with family members who come over.

Kitchen Safety Tips

  • Stay in the kitchen when cooking on the stove top.
  • Stay in the home when cooking your turkey, and check on it frequently.
  • Keep children away from the stove.
  • Make sure kids stay away from hot food and liquids.
  • Keep knives out of the reach of children.
  • Be sure electric cords are not dangling off the counter within easy reach of a child.
  • Keep matches and utility lighters out of the reach of children — up high in a locked cabinet. Never leave children alone in a room with a lit candle.
  • Keep the floor clear so you don’t trip over kids, toys, pocketbooks or bags.
  • Make sure your smoke alarms are working by pushing the test button monthly

Till next time
