Word of the Week is Information

Word of the Week is Information

Word of the Week for the 25th of October 2021 is: Information

It’s essential to have specific information on planning a project or deciding to follow through with the task.

For example, very few people would plan a vacation to a faraway place without information. We need to know we’re going and how we’re going to get there. You want to find out where you are going to stay, what are your options and opportunities. What venues do we want to investigate, what will we want to sightsee, where will we be entertained and eat?

Putting a vacation together requires information.

Developing a disaster management plan also requires information. But, again, it is best not to wing it.

So, where do we get our information? We can find information in multiple places.

Information is found regionally within your city or county, your state, and federal information sources.

You can find information through private sector entities such as businesses and organizations, NGOs such as the American Red Cross, city and county offices of emergency management, local news stations papers and tabloids, relatives, and friends, to name a few.

When deciding on your information needs, make a list of what you would like to know and then search each item specifically before moving on to the next thing.

One question One answer before moving on to the next question will prevent confusion with the person you seek information from. And will allow you to remain focused on your information gathering needs.

Be aware of your personal confirmation bias. Double check information with reliable sources.

There is no need to rush your efforts to find accurate information.

Till next time
