Hello my name is Daniel Kilburn from Emergency Action Planning dot com.

Are you a person that helps others?

Are you intelligent and open minded?

If so, I need your opinion. There will be a short survey I need your help with.

There are three short videos that will fill you in on what’s happening.

Video Number One is the set-up of what I am doing.

Video Number Two is about how I plan on doing it.

And video Three is why I feel I’m qualified, and what you can do to help me.

I will warn you right now. I will probably use some language that‘ll curl your toes, mention some truth you don’t want to hear, and at some point, I will piss you off.

Now I might be wrong, but do you know, you are probably one of 163.8 million people living in a natural at-risk location? By 2020 it is projected that 60% of the US population will live in coastal communities.

 

Go ahead. Take a good look at the map. Find the area where you live.

As you can see, coastal communities are at a higher level of risk. If you live on an island, you’re certainly in a coastal community.

If you live anywhere on this map. Even if you don’t live on this map

You have one of two choices;

• Take control and create a plan that will protect you, your family and loved ones from those disasters and emergencies that will come into your lives at some time.

OR

• Embrace that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach with the full realization that you have done nothing to protect yourself, your family and loved ones during the disasters and emergencies that will come crashing into your lives.

The choice is yours. I guarantee it.

I am reaching out to you to seek your opinion. I desire to create a for profit multimedia web-based training program designed for the urbanite/suburbanite family unit with little to no disaster preparedness skills, who live-in at-risk locations.

The desired outcome is that at the completion of the training program you will have created a working Emergency Action Plan unique to yourself, your family and loved ones. I call it the Emergency Action Planning Workshop.

Go through this checklist with me and discover if any of this is relates to you or someone you know.

• Do you live in cities that flood or have earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, volcanoes, wild fires, extreme heat, or drought?
• Do you live near places where hazardous materials are manufactured, stored, or transported?

• Have you any concerns about chemical spills, radioactive material dumps, nuclear power plant accidents?
• Or national security threats?

According to FEMA 60 percent of American adults have not practiced what to do in a disaster by participating in a disaster drill or preparedness exercise at work, school, or home in the past year.

When was the last time you did something like that?

Further, only 39 percent of respondents have developed an emergency plan and discussed it with their household.

This is despite the fact that 80 percent of Americans live in counties that have been hit with a weather-related disaster since 2007. And that number is rising every year.

Should I or Shouldn’t I Video Two

Welcome back to should I or shouldn’t I video number two.

What side of the equation are you on? The 39% who have taken the time to prepare. Or the 61% who are just too busy to be bothered with something so trivial?

While you ponder that, what will the Emergency Action Planning Workshop do for you?

• Emotional: You will know that you have done everything possible to ensure the immediate safety, health, and welfare of yourself and loved ones, during a time of emergency.
• Physical: You and your loved ones will know where to go, when to go there, and what to do if you are evacuating, or staying in place. Reducing the risk of personal physical danger.
• Psychological: Disasters and Emergencies create stress. You and your loved ones will not fall victim to these stressors because, you have already planned for, and prepared for these events.
• Social: Disasters and Emergencies will place a demand on the emergency personnel, and services in your community. Being prepared will make you an asset to the community, not a burden on the community.

And how do I plan on providing this training?

The primary platform is an online Learning Management System with Videos, downloadable audio, transcripts and PDF’s with reinforcing learning materials. The training is designed in a tell-show-do format using materials freely available through FEMA. Along with other Subject Matter Expert materials. Yes, there will be a reading list. And yes, you will need to preform specific tasks.

Keep in mind, education and information are not the same. You cannot learn how to do something by reading a book, watching a video or reviewing a checklist. You actually need to do it. Feedback and questions will be answered through a dedicated private Emergency Action Planning Workshop Facebook page. Course participants will be able to post their questions and concerns for feedback from their cohort and the instructor.

 

Select participants will have one-on-one verbal and email feedback with the primary instructor. That’s right one-on-one feedback with Drill Sergeant Dan. We will dissect each phase of your proposed plan, evaluate it and if needed adjust to suit your needs.

If you are wondering? There is no other training program like this available anywhere.

Now, I have been told that what I want to have people pay for, is freely available on YouTube. And search as I may I have not found any, comprehensive training, that covers the breadth of information I will provide.

Yes, you will find how to start a fire with two sticks. You can filter water with some sand and a pair of sox. And you will be able to open a can of tuna without a can opener.

But you will not be able to develop a comprehensive Emergency Action Plan that will protect you, your family and loved ones watching YouTube videos.

Cute Kittens, yes. Actual preparedness, no.

 

Now I know you’re wondering why do I want to do this?

The altruistic answer is because I do not want to see you or yours on the wayside with outstretched arms begging for help when disaster strikes. Yes, I am a bit of an empath, my mother told me so.

I enjoy the training process. I have done it for decades.

In turn, I will learn more about the Emergency Management process, allowing me to provide better instruction in the future.

And I will be able to help people before they need help. I know, what a concept.

And yes, I absolutely would enjoy knowing that I was instrumental in making a difference in someone’s life.

Just like you, I would like to profit from my skills.

Unless you have been living under a rock. It is my opinion that now is time for these skills to become mainstream in our society. And I am the person to do it.

You may be on your own for possibly long periods of time. Are you prepared to be the only responder?

Are you wondering? I know you are, you’re wondering, who am I, that you should pay attention to me, on the subject of Emergency Action Planning.

Let me throw a brief resume up here.

My background qualifications are;

 

33 years US Army, US Army Reserve retired.

My Military Occupational Specialty is 11B Infantryman.

I have served as a Senior Drill Sergeant, Training and Operations NCO.

I have instructed at the US Army Non-commissioned Officers Academies to include a posting to the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (USASMA) where I was instrumental in the creation of a multimedia NCOA training program used Army Wide.

I have taught First-Aid, Adult, Child and Infant CPR for the American Red Cross

I do hold multiple certificates on Emergency Management Planning from FEMA.

And I have an MBA with a project management minor.

Conservatively, I have trained over 15,000 men and women in the US Armed Forces, civilians and Foreign Nationals how to survive on the modern battle field.

I am uniquely qualified to prepare you, your family and loved ones for the emergencies, and disasters that will come crashing into your life.

And I desire your feedback on the Emergency Action Planning workshop.
