Spring Forward

Yes, it is that time of the year again.

Mar 8, 2020 – Daylight Saving Time Starts

When local standard time is about to reach
Sunday, March 8, 2020, 2:00:00 am clocks are turned forward 1 hour to
Sunday, March 8, 2020, 3:00:00 am local daylight time instead

Lose an hour’s sleep, an hour of pay (yes that happens too).

Lose some time changing all the clocks and watches in the house. You do remember the settings, right?

Don’t worry. There are some Politicians who want to make DST all year-long. I am really not sure what they are thinking. But we won’t need to repeatedly change the time on all of those clocks.

Hmmm, I wonder how much time is collectively wasted spent changing time on our devices twice a year.

Daylight Savings Time Seems to Be Really Bad for Our Health says the people at Men’s Health.

Who am I to say? I’m not a doctor any more than our elected officials are.

Not everybody needs to worry about it though.

Those of you living in a Mountain Retreat using Sun Dials will still have the same time of day. Except of course when it is overcast. Then there will be no time. Hmmm, does that mean you won’t age?

And for that group of Interstellar Explorers. They are on ships time. Sunlight is irrelevant. It’s always dark outside. Until they make planetfall Are all Terrestrial planets on a 24-hour cycle? What if it’s a 25 or 26-hour day, maybe 27. How about 19 hours. That’ll really mess with your circadian rhythm.

Anyway, till time falls back to normal we will have an extra hour of Daylight. Perfect for getting your Emergency Action Plan in order. Go ahead. You want to do it, I know you do.

Be the Hero.

Till next time

In Michigan In the winter it’s dark when we get up and dark before dinner.
Why not at least have light a little later in the evening.

You bring up a good point. The world does not impact everyone the same way.
Living farther North in the hemisphere does make for darkness earlier, and the extra time allocated for daylight would be useful.
